The five game-changing tools that make successful people tick
We’ve unlocked the mindset driving the world’s high-performing people
Ever wondered what sets change-makers apart from the rest of the world?
Us too.
It’s why we created The Ripple Effect Framework, a philosophy that guides everything we do here at foundher.
Based on years of research, education and learning with hands-on experience working alongside and coaching high-performing leaders of change, The Ripple Effect Framework is a collection of five key tools that we’ve seen activate game-changing shifts over and over again.
Together, these tools work in harmony to catalyse powerful results – both personally and in business – allowing ambitious change-makers to have a real impact in the world.
Best of all, they’re not some kind of secret formula that only a select few have access to. They’re available to all of us. The key is learning how to embrace them in your own life.
Introducing The Ripple Effect Framework
When we talk about The Ripple Effect Framework, we mean these five behaviours and skills : Awareness, Identity, Productivity, Capacity and Courage.
Let’s break it down.
Awareness: Who you are being affects what you're doing, 100% of the time! Read that again. So many of us approach each day on autopilot. But what if you took time every morning to check in with who you are being, how you are being, and what you want to achieve? Would that inform your approach to your schedule, how you interact with your team and how you deal with curveballs? When it comes to creating real impact, EQ and awareness is everything.
Identity: When you switch off autopilot, you need to get conscious, fast. That means examining your inner dialogue and cultivating a success-oriented mindset that aligns with your true sense of self. Do you believe wholeheartedly in your mission and your ability to reach your goals, or are you handicapping yourself with unhelpful stories based on fear? We usually know when we’re being authentic, right? It feels different, it’s more energising and purposeful action really takes off. High-performing people consciously work on their inner game to amplify their outer game.
Productivity: For most people, the definition of a productive day is ticking items off a to-do list, as fast as possible and as many items as we can. That approach is super helpful when we’re doing process, repetitive work. But did you know this kind of productivity is actually really unhelpful when we’re activating more strategic planning work? What if we told you that productivity is just as much about what you’re not doing as it is what you are doing? At foundher, we believe in creating a sustainable pace that replenishes you while you work, so you can feel and be more of your best, more of the time – and continue to be somebody who does something about that. Our world needs you to last!
Capacity: When you have awareness about how you are being and doing, and you’ve created habits that contribute to a sustainable daily rhythm, you begin to see how you can expand your capacity to achieve even bigger goals. This is not about simply adding more to your plate (that’s just a shortcut to burnout), but being intentional in how you spend your time and making your days, weeks and months work for you. Understanding this is the key to unlocking endless possibilities – a much further horizon and view of what’s possible.
Courage: Creating change, both personally and in the wider world, takes courage. Successful people aren’t born with a special bravery gene, they cultivate courage like a muscle – and you can too. It might look like being vulnerable enough to admit you don’t know something (yet); it might be exploring new ways of working, thinking or being; it might be taking a step beyond your comfort zone with no guarantee of success. As Winston Churchill once said, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
The Framework in action
Imagine for a minute what life would look like if you had all five consciously activated. How would you feel and what would be possible if you were your best self every day?
We call this The Ripple Effect Framework because not only does each tool intersect with and influence the next, but because each tool sparks change within you that then ripples out into the world, and others.
When you start to examine, tweak and refine how you live and work, the changes you make affect your team, your family and friends, your business and community. This is why our work with clients always starts with a focus on these five tools.
So, how do you put the Framework into action and follow in the footsteps of the changemakers you most admire? You can begin to make powerful shifts in your everyday by asking yourself a few questions:
· What would life look like if I had the courage to chase my biggest, boldest dreams?
Tip: Visualise this in as much detail as possible, and do it often.
· What stories and beliefs am I telling myself that might be holding me back?
Tip: Be as honest as you can – perhaps you believe you don’t have enough time to pursue your goals, or you feel that you never have enough money. What would be a more powerful, motivating belief that you could tell yourself instead?
· What activities or tasks energise me, and what do I find draining?
Tip: Take some time to reflect on what lights you up and where you can fit more of this into your life.
Your new toolkit for success
We’ll be honest: putting The Ripple Effect Framework into action isn’t an overnight job – and that’s OK. Contrary to what you might have been told, the journey to ‘success’ isn’t a race! It takes time, and the process can be a challenging one.
But, here’s the thing: it’s also deeply rewarding, as you grow and change in ways you never thought possible, all while achieving your goals.
